Utkarsha, meaning "pulling upwards, abundance" in Sanskrit, is committed to teaching children how to learn, preparing them for future jobs where knowing how to apply knowledge matters. Established in 2018 in Kanabargi, Belagavi, the Utkarsha Learning Center serves over 1,090 medically challenged and underprivileged children, offering free education, uniforms, stationery, and meals. The school ensures a stigma-free, inclusive environment where children can thrive without any financial burden.

According to the 2011 Census, there are 13.7 million slum households across 63% of India’s towns, with many residents being migrants and among the poorest. These households lack basic facilities like safe shelter, clean water, and energy. In Belagavi, many migrant children don't attend school due to their parents' lack of awareness and the need for the children to care for siblings or work. With low family earnings, some children are forced into begging, rag picking, or other unfair activities.
Our Challenges
Our Solution
The life-cycle approach of development begins by opening educational doors for slum children and the underprivileged. Mahesh Foundation’s Utkarsha Learning Center provides free education to first-generation learners. The school ensures quality, skill-based education to underserved communities. Mahesh Foundation has its own premises, infrastructure, and a good learning environment for over 1090 children.
School Management Team
In addition to teaching, our faculty plays a key role in mentoring students, providing academic guidance, and supporting extracurricular activities. Whether it's helping students with coursework, offering college preparation advice, or organizing events, our teachers are dedicated to the overall success of every student.

Our Teachers
The teachers at Utkarsha are trained to handle the learning needs of first generation learners. They are aware of the emotional baggage and other related issues that the children come with to the school. The teachers focus on learning rather than completing the syllabus. Learning to understand and use it in everyday life is what Utkarsha stands for. Our teachers are ever ready to learn and share their experiences with anyone who has the interest to know more about our methodology.
LEARNING CENTER
Infrastructural improvements
Utkarsha Learning Center is like a learning paradise for children. It is equipped with all the facilities that the children need. Along with formal education, we are providing Skill-Based Education and the premises ensures the infrastructure. Here are the glimpses of infrastructure in the school.

Our Activity

Concept of Currency
Using a whiteboard with images of various Indian currency notes and coins, the teacher explained their values. Children actively participated, identifying and discussing different denomina.

Chemistry Experiments
At Utkarsha Learning Center, children recently explored fundamental chemical reactions and concepts through hands-on chemistry experiments.

World Environment Days
Children at Utkarsha Learning Center embraced World Environment Day with enthusiasm, nurturing nature by planting saplings.

And just like that, you're starting a whole new adventure.
Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child and one teacher can change the world.
